Volunteers are the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes, often without expecting anything in return. Here at Nikkei Place, we believe that their efforts should never go unnoticed. That’s why we recently hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation Party on September 15, 2023 – a day filled with good food, laughter, and heartfelt thanks for the incredible work our volunteers do.
When we talk about Nikkei Place – including Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society, Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, and Nikkei Place Foundation – we are talking about more than just a physical location; we are talking about a vibrant, caring, and inclusive community. And at the heart of our community are the dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their time, energy, and talents to make Nikkei Place a place of warmth, unity, and support.
Our volunteers wear many hats – from event organizers, translators, Senior’s Lounge/ outreach program/language instructors, caregivers, to mentors and Manju Makers. Each person contributes in countless ways, lending a helping hand when it’s needed most. We would not be able to bring the many programs and special events to the community without their support, and we feel incredibly grateful – THANK YOU!
