New Horizons for Seniors Meal Delivery Program

This is a new program of the Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society and supported by the Federal Government of Canada, under The New Horizons for Seniors Program. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected our lives due to the self-isolation in order to avoid spreading the infection. As a result, seniors are faced with a decline in their physical and cognitive functions. 

We at Nikkei Home will contribute to this program with our Japanese Lunch Box Delivery Service. Our hope is that this program will provide opportunities for seniors to live more actively in the local community. Which will cause their mental and physical health to improve.

このサービスは日系シニアズヘルスケア＆住宅協会の新しい企画であり、カナダ連邦政府の【The New Horizons Senior Program】によりサポートされています。この度のCOVID-19パンデミックによる自粛生活で人々の生活は大きく変化しました。とりわけシニアの方々においては運動機能や認知機能の低下を招く結果となったケースもみられます。このプログラムにはシニア世代の方々が地域社会でよりいきいきとした生活を取り戻すという願いが込められています。その一環として私共は日本のお弁当宅配サービスを開始しました。”食べる”ことは健康維持における3大要素の一つです。お弁当宅配サービスによって少しでも元気を取り戻し、自宅で過ごしがちな状況からコミュニティ活動への参加に戻ってきていただけると幸いです。
