Bouquets of Tulips Bring Smiles to Residents and Staff of Nimi Nikkei Home!

Spring is in the air, and tulips are in full bloom! Just before Mother’s Day, a bunch of bouquets of tulips made their way to Nimi Nikkei Home. These beautiful tulips were a gift from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Vancouver, and the Dutch tulip growers in the Fraser Valley. They have brightened Nimi Nikkei Home, bringing smiles to both residents and our staff, and we are so appreciative of this lovely donation!

Did you know? The tulip is a symbol of the international friendship between the Netherlands and Canada. A strong bond blossomed between the two countries during the Second World War when Canada sheltered the Dutch Crown Princess Juliana and her Family in Ottawa, during which time Princess Margriet was born in 1943.
