From all of us at Nikkei Seniors, THANK YOU to all our volunteers for helping seniors feel happier, healthier, and remain connected!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme for National Volunteer Week this year is \u2018Volunteering Is Empathy In Action\u2019<\/strong> and affirms the strong connection between volunteerism and empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We take this opportunity to welcome Tomoko and Ayako (pictured above) back to in-person volunteering at Nimi Nikkei Home!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we closed our Kenko Wellness Lounge to the public due to the pandemic, in-person volunteering became impossible. However, as we began to pivot towards a virtual format, Tomoko and Ayako came on board as Zoom Chat volunteers, and continued to help seniors like themselves stay connected.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was not easy, but we just tried!”, they remarked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the years, volunteers have been a crucial part of Nimi Nikkei Home<\/strong> program\u2019s & Nikkei Senior\u2019s Outreach Program\u2019s success. Now as restrictions ease, we are excited to welcome back “Club Activity” volunteers, both experienced and new, to participate in-person and online. Currently Nimi Nikkei Home is now hosting more activities and hybrid programs<\/strong><\/a> over Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annually, we like to host a volunteer appreciation tea party for those who have given their time throughout the year to seniors at Nimi Nikkei Home. This year, we look forward to hosting a summer BBQ in recognition of all that you do! Learn more about how to join our volunteer team here<\/a><\/u><\/strong>. Every volunteer at Nimi Nikkei Home makes a difference to the lives of seniors.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
