Our top priority at Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society is the health and safety of our community. Please note the following changes we are making in response to the rising concern of the coronavirus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NEW \u2013 Video Conferences to begin<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Wed, Fri and Sat afternoons \u2013 between 1:30pm-3:30pm by appointment.&nbsp; Please email&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:NHActivities@nikkeishc.com\" target=\"_blank\">NHActivities@nikkeishc.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NEW \u2013 Virtual Concerts<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 as available concerts and performances will be presented in the dining room during breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NEW \u2013 Exercise in the Hallway<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 We will be trying out exercise with Hiromi from the doorway.&nbsp; We can maintain the 2m of separation and do a little bit of exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">FRONT ENTRANCE ONLY <\/span><\/strong>\u2013 remains the only entrance to Nimi Nikkei Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ESSENTIAL VISIT<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Only essential visits to residents are permitted. Essential visits are for those who are critically ill by a medical health practitioner. No children, one adult only. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 As of March 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;all staff including Hi Genki food services have been required to wear masks and eye protection for the safety of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">COVID 19 SCREENING &amp; SYMPTOMS<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Residents are being screened daily.&nbsp; If a resident presents with new symptom(s) we will request them to remain in their rooms for 14 days after symptoms resolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">GOING OUTSIDE<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Residents are discouraged from going out.&nbsp; If required to go out for a medical appointment \u2013 on returning the residents will be screened.&nbsp; The Order from FHA\u2019s Medical Health Officer for returns from Temporary Absences will apply (see March 30<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Update)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MEALS<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Residents are continuing have their meals in the dining room and meet the requirements set out by FHA.&nbsp; During meals when available the Activities Team will be presenting virtual concerts.&nbsp;We hope to have these concerts at breakfast time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NIKKEI HOME GROCERY STORE <\/span><\/strong>\u2013 Some supplies are available through our in-house store.&nbsp; Because it\u2019s hard to get cash \u2013 residents can pay by cheque.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ACTIVITIES<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 Nimi Nikkei Home is delivering to residents a daily news sheet with activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
